Western Excelsior Blankets

These blankets are available in single or double net configurations.  Single net excelsior blankets are used on slopes less than 2:1 or channel flows of less than 5.5 feet per second, while the double net product is used for slopes up to 1:1 and channel flow velocity of 7 feet per second.  Other configurations for more severe applications are available.

Western Excelsior SR-1

This is a straw blanket with a single photodegradable net stitch-bonded to the net. S-1 is ideal for short duration projects of low-flow channels or moderate slopes for up to one year. The product comes 7.5 feet wide x 120’ or 100 square yards per roll.

Western Excelsior SS-2

This is a straw blanket stitch-bonded to two photodegradable nets. S-2 is ideal for short duration projects of low-flow channels or moderate slopes for up to one year. The product comes 7.5 feet wide x 120’ or 100 square yards per roll.

Western Excelsior CS-3

A 70 percent straw, 30 percent coconut fiber blanket stitch-bonded between two photodegradable nets.  The top net is UV stabilized to extend the life to two years.  This product is ideal for very steep slopes.  Roll size is 7.5’ x 120’ per roll, 100 square yards.

Western Excelsior CC-4

This is a 100% coir fiber stitch-bonded between to UV stabilized nets.  Ideal for moderate flow channels and steep slopes.  A three-year life span can be expected.  Roll size is 7.5’ x 120’ per roll, 100 square yards.

All of the above products may also be purchased with a biodegradable netting configuration.

TURF RE-INFORCEMENT MATS

Western Excelsior PP5-8 & PP5-10 Turf Reinforcement Mats

Industry standard synthetic turf reinforcement blankets which are installed on top of the ground after slope or channel preparation and seeding for an immediate natural look.  Roll size is 6.5’ x 138.5’ per roll, 100 square yars.

Western Excelsior PP5-12

Designed for demanding conditions in which soil-filling is an option for maximum performance.  Heavier in weight than the 450, the 1060 gives long term ground cover and erosion protection.  For shoreline protection, 1060 may have a filter fabric bonded to one side to decrease the potential of soil piping. Roll size is 6.5’ x 138.5’, 100 square yards per roll

Profile Products | Futerra® F4 Netless®

Jute Mesh:  Jute Mesh was the original erosion control blanket.  Manufactured from two East Indian plants found in Southeast Asia, the plant fibers are separated and woven into the jute mesh product.  Totally biodegradable, the product will last approximately one year.

Coir Blankets are manufactured from pure coir, the husk of a coconut.  This product is then woven into blankets with specific weight, strength and open area.  Coir blankets are designed to last up to ten years on construction sites making them one of the best products to use in bioengineering applications.
